Christopher Fafa – Syncopation

Christopher was born in 1978 in Chios Greece. After spending his early age exploring his musical preferences, his first contact with electronic music came at the early 90s through local radio shows when he used to listen to hometown djs spinning from drum n bass and happy hardcore to acid house and trance. In 1994 his brother moved to Athens and bought him his first 12inch. His love for vinyl immediately grew up, he borrowed a friend’s deck and a mixer, he started collecting records passionately and improving his mixing skills. After meeting the boss of local underground radio station Pirate FM and some of the producers, he was asked to host a weekly show which kept for two years.
His first club residency came in 1996 at the local club called BASE. A year later together with friends and local djs Jee Funk and Michael Looney K formed The Funkyphreaks and started throwing house parties to Chios nightlife and spin alongside with some of the best Greek dj’s at that time such as Akyllas, Dennis, Phivos, Christo Z, G.Siras to name a few. In 1999 he moved to London to study civil engineering, but his passion of music kept unabated. It is there where he gained his major musical influences of how to construct a set and how to work the crowd after joining the legendary Bedrock nights at London’s Heaven club and some of the biggest British venues as a regular clubber. In 2003 he became member of the Keepintouch team and together with dj Toninio and Chritis M kept the underground vibe of Chios alive by creating quality music events at various venues. Till now he has shared the decks with top national DJs such as Nikko.Z, Dousk, Nick Varon, Stelios Vassiloudis, Andrianos Papadeas, AMX, V-Sag, among others.
In 2013 he was asked to make a guest appearance on the world’s leading internet underground radio Proton Radio. His guest mix climbed in the 4th place on the TOP100 so he was asked to host a monthly radio show called “Syncopation” where he features some of the finest deep, tech, progressive and techno tracks around. Over the last years his radio work has gained attention from various radio stations across the globe such as Digitally Imported (USA), Golden Wings Music (Argentina) and Generate Project (Greece).
His music could be described as emotional, deep and groovy and his dj sets have always a story to tell. Since 2015 Christopher started producing his own music as well as doing remixes for some of the most talked about label’s worldwide such as Particles, Soundteller, Dopamine Music, 3rd Avenue, Northern Lights music gaining support from huge artists in the industry like Hernan Cattaneo, Nick Warren and more.The last 6 years Christopher is also working as an A&R manager for Greek record label Dopamine Music.
